What does Menopause bring into your life, and what does it remove? Dealing with menopause can get tricky, especially because different women have different experiences. Some don’t have a problem at all, while for some, their entire world turns upside down.

Menopause that time in a woman’s life when she no longer has to bear those jarring stomach cramps or mood swings. Her period stops for good; no vaginal bleeding or spotting, and she can no longer bear a child.
A French Physician, Charles-Pierre-Louis de Gardanne, used the Greek words “Men” meaning Month and “Pausis” meaning cessation, referring to the completion of menstruation. For those who are still not aware, menopause comes with its new set of unthinkable, larger-than-life, and even more jarring challenges. You think the period is bad? By the time you meet Menopause, period feels like a breeze, for some at least. Well, I will say that they both have unique challenges specific to a woman’s body based on various aspects.
Dealing with Menopause
- Initially, your periods are irregular till the time it completely stops.
- Decreased oestrogen and progesterone, where the ovaries stop releasing eggs. Fewer hormones are produced, creating a ripple effect of physical and emotional symptoms.
- hot flashes, night sweats, sudden feeling of heat and sweating, especially in the night.
- Vaginal dryness
- insomnia, frequently waking up at night
- Your desire for sex decreases
- Your metabolism and fat distribution in the body changes, possibly causing you to gain excess weight.
- Other potential long-term illnesses. Consult your doctor to know more.
Around 13 million women in the UK are either perimenopausal or menopausal. Not many know much about what menopause initiates in their lives, and what it means. But when it does come, it brings in the chaos and you are forced to act on yourself. You are forced to practice self-care like you never did before!
This is why I started to think that Menopause is a permanent pause, until I had to look at it from a different perspective.
Because yes — it makes us stop. It makes us feel. It forces us to face things we’ve been told to ignore for years. But “mean” doesn’t have to be cruel — it can also mean serious, intentional, raw, and real.
As someone currently going through this transformation, I want to speak not from science alone, but from the heart. If you’re reading this, you might feel a little Lost. Tired. Maybe even Frustrated.
You are not alone or broken. You are not “TOO MUCH.”
The difference is that you are simply evolving — into your truest self.
You’re just becoming you – the fearless, untamed version of yourself who is finally allowed to speak, feel, and be.

Why Does Menopause Happen? (Quick Facts)
Let’s keep this simple. Menopause is the natural biological process marking the end of menstrual cycles. It typically occurs between ages 45 and 55.
In short, it happens because:
- Oestrogen and progesterone (our reproductive hormones) naturally decline.
- The ovaries stop releasing eggs.
- Menstruation stops, and fertility ends.
But this is not an ending. It’s a doorway.
Menstrual cycles come to an end — usually between ages 45 and 55. But I started around 38.
Around the age of 35 as the menstrual cycle starts slowing down. I have heard women going into menopause as early as the start of being in their 30’s as well.
It’s not the end of your power. It’s the beginning of your Authenticity.

Tips for do journaling
- Start writing about your feelings. What are you going through when dealing with menopause? Your experiences with the people around you, and how everything made you feel. Take your time to journal. You don’t have to rush with elaborate pages or journal every day.
- Use different styles of writing in your journal, such as using bullet points to just jot down quick emotions, or write a poem to show how you feel.
- Be fluid in your approach towards journaling. This means you can either journal at the same time every day, write whenever you feel the need to, or both.
- Add pictures if you want to express your emotions more visually. Doing this can also create a healthy diversion from what you are feeling and can channelise your energy into something more creative than destructive.
